Measuring For A Dog Collar
All our collars and leads at Rich and Robin available in a range of different sizes from toy to giant breeds. If you have a small dog the lead generally needs to be longer (as your hand is further away from your dog's collar) and for a large dog, a shorter wider lead is more preferable.
To determine the correct collar size for your dog, take a soft tape measure and place it around your dog's neck. You should be able to fit two fingers, flat, between the tape-measure and the neck. Remember that you want a comfortable fit, not too loose, but not too restrictive for your dog.
Measuring For Dog Clothing
For correct fitting clothing then you need to measure your dog in two places, around their chest and across their back. You can measure your dog's chest by having them stand and taking the measurement from just behind their front legs, up to the nape of their neck. This is normally the most important measurement for dog clothing. Then you measure their length of back. This too is simple, have them stand and simply measure again from the nape of the neck, to the base of the tail.
