Have your dog’s gotten their Christmas wish lists out yet? Our three have, in fact they were ever so sweetly planted under our noses around a month ago, with their best “good dog” smiles! The only thing they have all insisted on is that we don’t dress them up this year for our own amusement - spoilsports!

Australian Kelpie “Charm” and the BrakeFast Bowl

At Rich and Robin we love to feel that the products we sell are making a difference to dog’s and their owners lives, so when we received this email from a customer in Australia we couldn’t help but smile and had to share…

Hi Kim,

Thank you for the best product on the market the Brake Fast Bowl it has worked wonders for our 18 month Australian Kelpie “Charm”.

Charm, a rescue dog, lost most of her duodenum after being neglected with a corn cob stuck there for several weeks! Near death this poor dog was operated on and with little hope for a full recovery Charm has struggled with not only her stomach operation but damage also to her oesophagus when eating she would gobble her food and then vomit it back, this would be repeated numerous times.

Pulping her food led to constant diarrhoea it was so sad, Charm’s weight was not improving, her coat was dull and staring, she smelt sour. Having tried a brick in her bowl, rocks and even gluing golf balls to the base of her bowl I was considering a final visit to my vet when a search on Google led me to your web page.

You were fantastic the bowl arrived in four days! I must admit I was not feeling very confident that this would work but it did…no more vomiting, Charm can’t gobble her food and just look at her photo’s you can see in three weeks she has gained weight, her coat shines, the smell has gone and Charm is so full of energy.

Thank you!!!

Jacquie

Check out these pics of the gorgeous Charm tucking into her dinner in her brakefast bowl.

We think she’s a pretty smashing girl, don’t you? We’d like to wish her and her owner the best of luck for the future. After a tough start she’s a little lady who has certainly landed on her feet (or paws!) so to speak!

Friends Of The Animals Auction

We donated some of our dog collars to Friends of the Animals a few months ago, ready for their big Christmas Auction. Their auction has now kicked off, so be sure to check them out and bid on some of the gorgeous items they have on offer!!

October Donation

We made our donation this month to Rescue Remedies. They’re a home based rescue based in London and aim to provide warm and safe foster care for dogs, to aid their rehabilitation into new forever homes.

As a small rescue they are dependant on goodwill and volunteers who open their homes to foster a dog in need, donate dog food or items, spread the word to search for good homes and above all, offer a homeless dog their home for life.

Can you help?

Brake-Fast bowls arrive in the UK!

Brake-Fast the market leader in anti-bloat dog bowls have arrived in the UK. Rich and Robin are pleased to have finalised their agreement with Brake-Fast LLC to become their sole UK distributor of their patented Brake-Fast anti-bloat pet bowls.

Benefits of the brake-fast bowl:

Many dogs have a unhealthy habit of gobbling down their food as fast as they can, often without chewing and by simply inhaling. This can lead to very worrying health problems, such as indigestion, GDV or bloat.

Brake-Fast’s three simple obstructions in the base of the bowl serve as an obstruction to slow down your dog’s eating. Rather than a fast sweeping gobbling motion, they are forced to eat around the obstructions and chew their food without inhaling.

Slower eating can also help to make your dog feel fuller, faster - thus reducing instances of re-eating. Aggressive eaters will find that the faster they eat, the more the bowl will slip away - thus encouraging slower eating.

By slowing down your dog’s eating process the brake-fast bowl can also eradicate the problem of regurgitation.

Brake-fast food bowls are the only anti-bloat dog bowl to be available in three sizes, Small (toy/flat face breeds), Medium (Beagles to Labradors) and Large (Great Danes to Mastiffs). They have an elegant, non tip shape and are both durable and dishwasher safe. Tested and recommended by veterinarians to slow down a dog’s eating.

Brake-fast bowls are available to buy at http://www.richandrobin.co.uk.

For trade enquiries please email info@richandrobin.co.uk.

Testimonials:

Hi
I hope this is of use to you.  My dog already had tried a bowl like yours at the dog supply site in Forfar so I knew it slowed his eating down.   We have tried putting objects in feeding bowls to encourage dogs to eat slower but none of them has worked as well as this brake fast design bowl. He is digesting his food a lot better and is not regurgitating soon after eating.
Thanks
Linda

——

I am exceptionally happy with the brake-fast bowl and happy to provide recommendation for the product. I own a German Shorthaired Pointer, a breed prone to gastric torsion as they are deep chested, she has always been a very quick eater, inhales her food rather than chews, however over the past 2 weeks she had gotten alot worse and kept bringing her food back up, I had split her meals down to 4 a day to try to prevent this happening but with no success. Since using the medium brake-fast bowl I have had 100% success with her it slows her eating down substantially. Excellent product.

 Kind regards,

Jackie

As for the bowl, well I think it is fab as it is slowing my greedy lab down big style. Not so sure he would agree though! Thanks for your prompt delivery and great products.

September Donation

This month we’re pleased to make our donation to Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue who work tirelessly to help rescue the hundreds of greyhounds and lurchers that need to find good homes every year.

You can find out a lot more about their hard work by visiting their site above.

Scruffy and Missy in particular are two poor dogs who really could do with all the support they can get at the moment!

August Donation

Well it’s been yet another busy month at Rich and Robin - it feels like we’ve never stopped!

We did take the time to keep an eye on how Alfie was doing, and are so glad he appears to be coping well with his treatment :)

This months donation has gone to Friends Of The Animals based in Wales. They are a small rescue who work hard to help dogs from puppy farms find homes and lead normal lives with loving owners. We also took the opportunity to donate some dog collars for their online auction to take place towards Christmas. We can only hope that our little help does indeed help these less than fortunate dogs to find loving homes and lead their happy lives they truly deserve.

July Donation

Can you help Alfie?

Well we thought long and hard about who this months donation should go to, and then this little guy popped up. He hasn’t got a lot of time, and has a serious heart defect. The surgery to save him will cost £3,000 and he needs all the help he can get. If anyone out there can help Alfie, please do.

We’ll be watching and waiting with our fingers/paws crossed that he gets through this and is able to enjoy growing up like he deserves!

How time flies…

Wow!!

Well what a month June turned out to be! Rich and Robin saw our number of customers triple in June alone and July is showing to be an exciting month too. It’s been hard work, but the Gang are loving it and we’re enjoying providing our customers with the very best level of service we can.

Not only have we had an incredibly busy time fulfilling orders from our customers, but we’ve also been super busy adding new products to the site too. We have a whole new range of Dublin Dog collars, with more on the way in coming weeks. The new collars are available in four gorgeous designs, Cotton Candy, Orange and Pink, Neapolitan and Sky Breeze - we happen to think they all look pretty smashing, don’t you?

Not only do we have our new collar range for dogs, we also added a whole new section for cats! We have a fab range of cat collars from Red Dingo. They come with the fishbone quick release clip to ensure an easy way of escape should kitty get themselves caught up. We have ID tags for cats coming very soon, watch this space.

Want more? Well we added two new ID tags to our wide range, they are the rhinestone bone dog tag and the rhinestone star dog tag by those wonderful people at K9 By Igloo!

For those hungry hounds we also added a new flavour of our popular Healthy Hounds Bakery treats, they’re now available in beef and veg to tickle those K9 taste buds.

We’ll be making a donation to a dog rescue over the coming days and look forward to another month at Rich and Robin.
