July Donation

Can you help Alfie?

Well we thought long and hard about who this months donation should go to, and then this little guy popped up. He hasn’t got a lot of time, and has a serious heart defect. The surgery to save him will cost £3,000 and he needs all the help he can get. If anyone out there can help Alfie, please do.

We’ll be watching and waiting with our fingers/paws crossed that he gets through this and is able to enjoy growing up like he deserves!

How time flies…

Wow!!

Well what a month June turned out to be! Rich and Robin saw our number of customers triple in June alone and July is showing to be an exciting month too. It’s been hard work, but the Gang are loving it and we’re enjoying providing our customers with the very best level of service we can.

Not only have we had an incredibly busy time fulfilling orders from our customers, but we’ve also been super busy adding new products to the site too. We have a whole new range of Dublin Dog collars, with more on the way in coming weeks. The new collars are available in four gorgeous designs, Cotton Candy, Orange and Pink, Neapolitan and Sky Breeze - we happen to think they all look pretty smashing, don’t you?

Not only do we have our new collar range for dogs, we also added a whole new section for cats! We have a fab range of cat collars from Red Dingo. They come with the fishbone quick release clip to ensure an easy way of escape should kitty get themselves caught up. We have ID tags for cats coming very soon, watch this space.

Want more? Well we added two new ID tags to our wide range, they are the rhinestone bone dog tag and the rhinestone star dog tag by those wonderful people at K9 By Igloo!

For those hungry hounds we also added a new flavour of our popular Healthy Hounds Bakery treats, they’re now available in beef and veg to tickle those K9 taste buds.

We’ll be making a donation to a dog rescue over the coming days and look forward to another month at Rich and Robin.

June Donation

Rich and Robin’s donation for June goes to North West Labrador Rescue. They’re a voluntary organisation dedicated to the welfare of labradors and have been working hard to help them since 1995! So far in 2008 alone, 121 dogs have been through their care and re-homed - that’s a lot of labradors! Obviously this is very costly and they have to work hard to keep fundraising and keep the money coming in to look after these poor dogs.

They will be holding a Fun Day on 5th July 2008, so if you want to help support them please visit North West Labrador Rescue website to find out more!

We know they will appreciate it massively.

Could Bella be the world’s oldest dog?

A couple from Derbyshire are trying to prove that their rescued labrador cross is in fact the oldest dog in the world at an incredible 29 yrs old! Bella was rescued by the couple from the RSPCA some 26yrs ago were they were told she was “atleast 3yrs old”. Due to her having no official paperwork her amazing age can not be officially proved!

Click here to read more about Bella! Whatever her world record status, we reckon she’s a real cutie!

Ruffdogs Fundraiser - The Outcome!

Here’s a note from Emma, the hard worker behind the Ruffdogs Fundraiser in aid of Dog Lost!

You’ll be pleased to hear that your wonderful donation of treats helped raise a fabulous £450 for Dog Lost - they went down a storm! Thank you so much!

We’re just glad we could do a little something to help!

May Donation

May’s donation has gone to The Oldies Club - they work hard to help rehome older dog’s who have been given up for various reasons. Here’s what they had to say regarding their work:

Oldies Club (UK registered charity number 1118246) helps older dogs find forever homes. We rescue and rehome older dogs via a network of foster homes. The dogs we help are aged 7 plus and most are ten years or older. Some have been neglected, or their owners were unable to care for them properly due to their own ill health. Due to this, our vet bills are rather high and any financial help is much appreciated.

We need good homes to adopt our dogs and volunteers to foster, homecheck, transport, fundraise, attend events, make dog coats and put up posters. We also work with other UK rescues to publicise the plight of their older dogs and help them find loving new homes too. Please visit Oldies Club if you would like to offer an older dog a new home or would like to volunteer.

A very deserving cause I’m sure you’ll agree!

Rocky Swimming

Our special boy Rocky had a lovely morning swimming which deserves a post all of it’s own we feel! Why, you may ask.. This time last year at not quite 2yrs old this boy was struggling to even stand up! It was much like watching a 12yr old dog struggle to his feet :-( He was at hydrotherapy twice weekly, on limited exercise and in a lot of pain due to hip dysplasia.

He had a hip replacement on his right hip back in September and now he is well and truly bouncing back, just in time for summer and boy are we going to enjoy it! :-)

They pose, we snap…

Not really!! The dog’s don’t have much time for our camera snapping - well, Yorkie does.. The other two feel that they should just move as fast as possible whenever the camera comes out!! Here we managed to catch a cute Yorkie pose.. A silly face pose and Chief thoughtfully looking out of the window..

Who needs a humunga tongue?

Summer’s coming…

The dogs are getting ever so excited now the sun is making it’s short lived appearances! They’re starting to enjoy their swims, longer runs, extended games of fetch - not to mention all those wonderful smells throughout their woodland walks.. All this only after putting in a day’s hard work of course!

Here’s our very own Chiefy-Chops enjoying a break in the sun…

We may be a tiny bit biased, but we think he gets cuter by the day!
